Corona notes for the Hamburg public transport system

For your and our health

Continuation of the obligation of a medical mask in the hvv area

We keep Hamburg running even in times of the coronavirus. However, please note before you travel with us: Wearing a medical mask (FFP2 or surgical mask) on buses, trains and at bus stops is still mandatory. Masks made of fabric ("community masks"), scarves, shawls or face visors are not permitted.

Even when wearing a mask, please keep a minimum distance from other people wherever possible.

Further information on the general conditions of carriage and the obligation to wear a mask in the hvv can be found here.

Separating discs in the buses

Since August 2020, all 1500 HOCHBAHN and VHH buses have been equipped with dividers at the driver's workplace. This means that passengers can also board at the front again. Nevertheless, we still ask you - if possible - to buy your ticket in advance via hvv app or at the ticket vending machine.

Additional mobile cleaning

In addition to regular thorough cleaning of all vehicles and bus stops, mobile hygiene teams are currently on the road seven days a week. They disinfect our buses, subways, stops and bus transfer stations. This includes all contact points such as bus bars and loops, push buttons or elevators.
