Four lines to your destination
The U1
This line connects Norderstedt to the city centre and continues via the so-called Walddörfer to Großhansdorf or Ohlstedt. With 46 stops and over 55 kilometres of track, it is the longest metro line in Germany.
The U2
This line runs from Niendorf Nord to the city centre and on to the Mümmelmannsberg district. It takes 44 minutes to travel from one end to the other, over a distance of some 24 kilometres, with 25 stops en route. The U2 takes our passengers to the city’s zoo Hagenbecks Tierpark, the exhibition halls, and the racecourse known as the Horner Rennbahn.
The U3
Arguably the most beautiful metro line in the whole of Germany, it runs in a circle through Hamburg’s city centre, along the harbour and past the Elbphilharmonie. The first section of the U3 was opened in 1912, making it the oldest line in Hamburg too. Starting in the Barmbek neighbourhood, the U3 has a total of 26 stops, connecting the districts of Winterhude, Eppendorf, Sternschanze, St. Pauli and the city centre.
The U4
Opened in 2012, this newcomer to Hamburg’s metro system connects the eastern districts of the city. From the Billstedt district, the U4 line runs via the city centre to the HafenCity, terminating at the Elbbrücken stop, which opened at the end of 2018. Plans are currently well underway for a further section linking to Horner Geest area of the city.
